Michelle Azzi
Alisa's Dance Academy Instructor
I am currently a student at The University of Texas at Austin studying biology and hoping to continue my education on to medical school to receive my doctorate. Though I thoroughly enjoy studying science, dance has been my passion ever since I started at the age of 2. I received most of my training from my hometown studio in Tyler, TX, but was able to study at American Ballet Theatre’s summer intensive in New York and have been offered to train at various other schools such as Alvin Ailey School of Dance and University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Ballet is one of my favorite styles of dance, and I was trained in Cecchetti technique for almost all of my life. On the other hand, I love the freedom of movement and creativity that comes with contemporary dance, and enjoy integrating techniques of Límon, Cunningham, Graham, and Horton into my own choreography. I believe dance is the most beautiful outlet to showcase uniqueness and personality to those who watch.
