Katherine is originally from St. Paul, Minnesota where she began her pre-professional training at Minnesota Dance Theatre under the direction of Lise Houlton. She started her professional career as an apprentice with MDT in 2013. In 2014, she was invited to solidify her professional training at the School of American Ballet. While at SAB, she participated in multiple Choreographic Institutes where she both choreographed and originated roles in ballets by Dana Genshaft and Peter Walker. She appeared in SAB’s Annual Workshop performance in Jerome Robbins’ Fanfare as well as George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments. Katherine went on to apprentice with Ballet Austin for two years before joining the company in 2018. With Ballet Austin, she has performed in works by Stephen Mills, Jennifer Hart, Michelle Thompson, Thang Dao, and Septime Webre. Her most notable performances included soloist roles in George Balanchine’s Rubies as well as Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s Symbiotic Twin. Katherine is also a member of project-based contemporary company, Performa/Dance. In conjunction with her dance career, she recently completed her 200-hour yoga teacher certification. This will be her third season teaching at Alisa’s Dance Academy! .
